Some random thoughts

Just thought I would share the random thoughts that have been through my mind the past few days.  No news on the adoption process, except that the cookbooks are on the way!  They will arrive on my porch April 15th!!
  1. Today's daily Bible verse blew my mind.... I don't think I've ever read it before, or maybe just didn't get it before.  Absolutely LOVE it.  1 Peter 4:11
    If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
  2. Running is my enemy.  I used to think it was my friend.  But I have not been able to breathe well while running (for quite a while, but it's just now affecting my running).  So I used Justin's inhaler before running today & it was a little better.... so maybe I will call Running my "frienemy".
  3. Somewhat related to #2: I have a 5K in Oak Island, NC this Saturday... I am dreading it.  I will have to run alone (my first 5K running alone) and I am really stinking up the running lately (having to walk a lot).  I'm debating on whether or not to skip it altogether. :(  Leave me some inspiration people.
  4. I have a serious case of senioritis.  I am so ready to be done with school so I can have a life again!!!  108 days - but who's counting?!?!
  5. I want need a vacation.  Like really.  Separate of school, I just need to get away to somewhere tropical - it's been 2 years since a real vaca & my mojo is suffering :)
  6. Ok, so far it's been all negative... haha ... so here's something positive.  I <3 spring!!  It's just God's way of showing us He still loves us.  This spring (pollen & all) has been glorious.  I'm in serious love.
  7. I am loving the new show on Discovery HD called "Life"  - it's so incredibly amazing to watch God's creation - how intimate and detailed each organism and animal is!  And what's more amazing - the same God who created all this life in the sea & in the Earth is the same one who knows the hairs on my head & knows my heart intimately.
  8. I have 5 weddings to attend in a little over a month's time (between Apr 24 & May 29)!  I love weddings!!  And I get the honor of directing the one on April 24th.  How exciting. :)

    So glad to see that you are still with us! Here's a little inspiration as far as the running...I can't run worth a hoot and choose not to so, you're doing better than me! Plus, I have asthma...I completely understand!

    I definitely admire your steadfastness with running! It is my "frienemy" as well. I was so happy after running my first 5K last fall, but I have since stopped training and running in general. I hate running so much while I'm doing it, but love the feeling afterwards! Go figure.
    When can I get a couple of cookbooks from you? I'm sorry I missed you this weekend at WC!!

My eyes are heavy with the haze of anesthesia as I feel the weight of a warm post-op blanket cover my body. I’m suddenly aware of the pain. And then my eyes shoot open and I slur with a heavy tongue and a raspy voice to my husband there at my bedside in the sterile recovery room, “Is it over?! What did he say?!” There’s a pause and a sigh and I suddenly feel a weight in that moment, you know that heaviness of a moment that you know will change your path from here on out. “Babe, he said there’s nothing he could do…” Hot tears stream down my cheeks and the pain of a surgery meant to pave the path towards bringing life into this world is now a dead end. It was my 4th surgery to restore order to my uterus and ovaries, which were a tangled mess of endometriosis & scar tissue from a condition known as Asherman’s Syndrome.
