November Baby!!

Well many of you are friends of mine on Facebook, so you most likely already have heard our fantastic news.  But for those of you that have not heard.... I thought I would share!  :)

We have been matched with a birthmother!!!!!!

She is due Nov. 5th and is from Oklahoma City, OK!!  We've known for several weeks now and almost every day I'd ask Justin, "Can I announce it to Facebook & my blog????"  And every day, he'd say, "Let's wait a little longer."  So I am ecstatic to let you know of our good news.

Please continue (and even escalate) your prayers.  She still has the ability to change her mind, even after the baby is born (until she signs irrevocable consent) - although we're pretty sure her mind is made up.  The birthfather is in prison, and might possibly contest the adoption once out (but the lawyers state he has nothing to stand on, since he has not shown the birthmom any support).  There are many challenges I'm not mentioning here.  But we know that the Lord is good and will continue to bless!!

    I popped over from We are THAT Family and was excited to see that you aren't too far away from me in here in Greensboro! My husband and I are waiting to adopt our first child and have been through one failed placement. I just wanted to say that I really think your blog is cute and I read some of the older posts and can't believe what a story you have! Wow.

My eyes are heavy with the haze of anesthesia as I feel the weight of a warm post-op blanket cover my body. I’m suddenly aware of the pain. And then my eyes shoot open and I slur with a heavy tongue and a raspy voice to my husband there at my bedside in the sterile recovery room, “Is it over?! What did he say?!” There’s a pause and a sigh and I suddenly feel a weight in that moment, you know that heaviness of a moment that you know will change your path from here on out. “Babe, he said there’s nothing he could do…” Hot tears stream down my cheeks and the pain of a surgery meant to pave the path towards bringing life into this world is now a dead end. It was my 4th surgery to restore order to my uterus and ovaries, which were a tangled mess of endometriosis & scar tissue from a condition known as Asherman’s Syndrome.
