Bad bad blogger!
Sorry I have been so MIA lately on the adoption blog updates. With a newborn in general it gets tougher, but add in a new additional blog (www.threelittlebirdsnest.blogspot.com), a new job I started Monday, and Zane starting daycare Monday, it's been pretty rambunctious around here! ;)
Zane is getting so strong! He is also showing his temper! HAHA! When we are giving him a bottle and pause to burp him, he will literally scream and move from sitting on our laps to planting his feet and standing straight up! It is quite impressive. I need to try & capture it on video. Don't worry, he isn't in any distress... just wants his bottle back! He is also starting to stand up in our laps without us making him do it. He might start walking before he crawls!
He is giving us awesome, face-lit-up smiles lately. They aren't frequent, but when he does, we get so. stinkin'. excited. Like we won the lottery. And he is sleeping through the night now, which is fabulous as well.
We still have not obviously made our last trek to OKC for the finalization/formality thing. Justin called the attorney again today to see what the hold-up was. I think he has just gotten slack to be honest! He said he was going to get a court date for us tomorrow. But now that I've started my job, we can't just up and leave the state, especially since they are making appointments with patients a couple months out, it's going to be especially difficult. Justin did tell him to try and get one no earlier than 6 weeks from now, so I can at least give the office some time to move a couple patients around if they have to.
Anyhoo, we are settling in as parents pretty well. I LOVE being a mom, and feel like my heart could just burst sometimes! Who knew you could love someone so much?!?
We are starting a 21-day fast at Whitley Church this Sunday. I need to pray about what God wants me to fast. Last year, it was Facebook which was a challenge but much needed. It's called the Awakening Fast. Any other churches participating?
