Behind
Behind! That's what I am. I am so sorry that I have been absent from the blog. Let me fill you in on what's been going on in the McLamb household...
1) We have a growing baby boy who has captured our hearts and makes us want to spend every waking moment with him!
2) I started a new job. Monday through Friday, 8 to 5. And while I'm not complaining, because I absolutely L*O*V*E* what I do, I am completely inundated with work. I work 8 hrs a day, then come home long enough to spend about an hour with my hubby & son, then go back to work on the computer! I work in such a busy office that I don't have time to document my patients' findings, my diagnoses, and my plan during the day! So I am unfortunately forced to bring work home every single night :( Some nights (many nights), I work until I fall asleep at the computer or until 1 or 2 a.m.!
3) Zaney had a severe case of bronchiolitis that lasted about 3 1/2 weeks. Y'all, he was seriously sick. He should have been admitted, but I guess they thought since I was a healthcare professional that I could handle him at home. We had to take him to the ER twice! For about 3 days, we were giving him nebulizer treatments every 2-4 hours! Then for about a week or so, he got nebs every 4 hours, plus a bunch of steroids and antibiotics and stuff all day long. I have never been so worried in all my life. But if any of you know my Z. well, he never stopped smiling. Even when he was breathing 60-70 times a minute!
4) Justin got the dreaded stomach bug that went around our town like madness. He was out of commission for about 3 days.
5) I have had a different cold each week since I started working. And just a few days ago, I started feeling especially rotten... and so they checked me for the flu... and sure enough, I've been confined to my house thanks to the Influenza A virus. Oh what fun! Hence, I've slowed down long enough to blog ;)
6) Some good things have happened ...I know you were beginning to wonder! :) We got a new refrigerator!! Woooo hoooo! And my little niece is turning into less of a baby and more of a little girl... she's started crawling!! And God is SO blessing my Thirty-One business. I am getting ready to promote to Senior Consultant and am hoping to promote to Director soon! I have 8 people on my own personal team! :)
7) We've been keeping in contact with our birthmom still - she seems to be doing pretty good. The birthfather took her phone (again!) so she is again without a phone. And then he got arrested (again!) - for what, we are not sure, but T. says it's for a "major offense" and he should be going to prison this time (but we've heard that before too). And be praying for this situation regarding her other 2 children - the birthfather's mother has custody of T.'s other 2 kids (you may remember) and has been upset with T. regarding the adoption, so she has not allowed T. to see her kids in about 3 months. You know this has to be really hard for her, since she chose to do what was right in her eyes for Z. and now she has no children in her life to enjoy. My heart goes out to her.
8) God has been using us and our little story and our experience! We have shared our testimony at a Sanctity of Human Life Service at our home church, Princeton Church of God, as well as I was able to share it at a regional Thirty-One meeting! I have said that as long as God presents us with the opportunity to share what He has done for us, I will forever proclaim his goodness and his faithfulness. We also have met with another couple in our town who are considering adoption. They have lots of questions, like we did when we first started. I hope they choose adoption - they are scared to death! :)
We haven't been more ready for Spring than we are right now! What a LONG Winter! Bring on the sunshine and warm weather!!!!
A couple of things to look forward to:

He loves to watch TV! Doesn't matter what's on... he will almost break his neck wherever he is to find the TV in the room! HAHA! And he's not able to sit in his little seat above for long yet (he starts to lean after about a minute), but it won't be long!! :) He has been laughing at us and smiling - he is truly the happiest baby I have ever seen.

Zane and his first ballcap. Sorry for the quality, but was taking it from the front seat, with him in his carrier in the backseat :) |

Starting to grasp at toys, and put them in his mouth a little bit! And just ignore that big pile of laundry... because it's probably still sitting there ;) Hence our busy little lives. |

A couple of things to look forward to:
- We are going "new-Jeep-shopping" for Justin as soon as I start feeling better - we are getting tired of the car swap that we play every single day since we can't get Z into J's 2-door Wrangler and J takes him to daycare & I typically pick him up. Hoping to get a 4-door Jeep, since you know how much we love to ride with that top down! :) PS- does anyone know if it's ok if we ride with Z in the back with the top down??
- We are going to hire a once-a-week (hopefully) housekeeper to come in and clean the house, so that it will take that one thing off of our busy shoulders, and allow us more time to spend with each other & Z. Now, we aren't made of money but now that we have 2 incomes, it will be easier to afford what some may call a luxury... for me, it just might be my saving grace!!!
- Zane just had his 3 month pics (a month late, thanks to that prolonged sickness of his) taken yesterday by our friends, Jared & Amanda Grantham at J+A Photography!!! Cannot wait to see what they did - Justin took him, since of course, I am laid up in bed :( Here's a little snapshot Justin got off his phone during the shoot...
