The Secret's Out!!

Ok, so many of you have been waiting to see what all this secrecy and mystery was about........





So I could leave you guessing......


But I won't!  


We're Adopting!!


We haven't been matched to a birthmother yet, but the liaison company we are working with pretty much guarantees placement within 12 months.  So we will be holding our baby before Christmas (and most likely way before then!)!


We are so very excited to be able to share our love with a sweet child.  We have sooooo much to do to get ready (including fundraisers - anyone wanna buy a cookbook?!?!).  This blog will be a busy one over the next few months as you follow our journey to becoming parents and we're excited to share this with you.


Our friend Amy Baumgartner took pictures of us this past weekend to include in our Adoption Profile (which is a booklet that the birthmothers look through to choose the adoptive parents).  Here's a slideshow of those pics :)

    yay!! That is awesome, Tara! Your pictures are GREAT--Amy did a great job....did you notice the one of the two of you with that tiny little rocking chair in the background? Can't wait to see update picts in months to come with your little one in that chair!!:) Love ya!

    Thanks everyone :) Brooks, I am just so excited that our kids will be growing up together at the same age - hope they get along a lot better than we did ;) haha. Love ya!

    And Allison, yes, I did notice that chair and it was not even staged that way or even considered at the time. I pointed it out to Justin the day we got the pics back. That would be an awesome pic in a couple years :)

My eyes are heavy with the haze of anesthesia as I feel the weight of a warm post-op blanket cover my body. I’m suddenly aware of the pain. And then my eyes shoot open and I slur with a heavy tongue and a raspy voice to my husband there at my bedside in the sterile recovery room, “Is it over?! What did he say?!” There’s a pause and a sigh and I suddenly feel a weight in that moment, you know that heaviness of a moment that you know will change your path from here on out. “Babe, he said there’s nothing he could do…” Hot tears stream down my cheeks and the pain of a surgery meant to pave the path towards bringing life into this world is now a dead end. It was my 4th surgery to restore order to my uterus and ovaries, which were a tangled mess of endometriosis & scar tissue from a condition known as Asherman’s Syndrome.
