New Header, New Name

Hi guys!  I've been wanting a different name for the blog for sometime (I mean, really, how creative is it to make the title of your blog your last name?? hehe)... so tonight I decided on "Three Little Birds" (...and you're saying, "thank you Captain Obvious"...).  I settled on this title for several reasons:
  • Three Little Birds is the name of my all-time favorite song by my all-time favorite artist, Bob Marley!
  • Soon, our little "nest" will have 3 instead of just 2!  Woo to the hoo. :)
  • I love watching the birds come visit my bird feeder.  But I have no clue what kind they are or anything... I'm not that dorky ;) haha (although I obviously recognize cardinals- duh)
  • I have been thinking about doing something with birds in the nursery for a little while ... before we knew we were having a boy.  Before I got a letter in the mail from my aunt with a little blue feather "because she just felt led by the Lord to include it".  Before I have had verses from the Bible about birds in my head.  Before I found some fabuloso art for the nursery that included birds but yet remained within that modern style I was looking for!  HA! :)
So now you know.  I know you didn't ask, but thought I would explain anyway so the title change wouldn't seem quite so random.

Also, if you're wondering where I got the new header, head on over to LouLee Blog - she's got some cute stuff!!  Curious how I worked my magic on the pic & wording?  Head on over to FotoFlexer.com.  Simple and easy to upload and edit pics ... when you don't have the luxury of having Photoshop :)  Lastly, I had to expand my margins of the profile out and all that jazz... I've not had the "pleasure" of playing with HTML code before... and let me tell you... I will not be changing my blog layout for a loooong time.  BUT, if you have questions on how to do that, shoot me a message.

Anyway, I know I promised you pics, and they are coming soon!!  I promise!!  Hope you're having a fantastic weekend.

    Yeah, I know what you mean. I had wanted to find a cute theme/name for my blog for ever, but I'm just not very creative. I finally just settled on the sweet treats theme. It seemed to apply since my blog is really just a memoir of our lives. I actually am starting the process of printing my blog as a book...just the entries that apply to our family. I have a 200 page book through Evan's 1st birthday prepared that will cost like $90.00, but I really think it is priceless so that is a pretty good deal. It is cheaper than just a photo book. I am sure that might interest you when your little man arrives on the scene. Lots of memories to document. :-)

My Story

My eyes are heavy with the haze of anesthesia as I feel the weight of a warm post-op blanket cover my body. I’m suddenly aware of the pain. And then my eyes shoot open and I slur with a heavy tongue and a raspy voice to my husband there at my bedside in the sterile recovery room, “Is it over?! What did he say?!” There’s a pause and a sigh and I suddenly feel a weight in that moment, you know that heaviness of a moment that you know will change your path from here on out. “Babe, he said there’s nothing he could do…” Hot tears stream down my cheeks and the pain of a surgery meant to pave the path towards bringing life into this world is now a dead end. It was my 4th surgery to restore order to my uterus and ovaries, which were a tangled mess of endometriosis & scar tissue from a condition known as Asherman’s Syndrome.
