Earl

What kind of name is Earl?  A southern one of course! :) And he's about to wreak havoc on my Labor Day weekend plans.  Who's Earl, you ask??

Notice where NC is.  See where the little black line on the left, indicating where the left side of the storm will be?  Yeah... that's where I live.  :)  Oh yeah, and see the blue section of NC (you know, where the hurricane's eye will hit?)?  Yeah... that's where I'm supposed to be this weekend.

Bad Earl!  Bad, bad Earl!  Well hopefully he will miss us entirely, but not looking that way.  Expected landfall is Thursday evening.  And guess who has to go into work on Friday a.m. at 0700?  You guessed it.  ME.  And no, I can't just call & say I won't be there... I'm a nurse, which means I have to be there regardless of a Category 4 Hurricane swirling around my house at the time.  Just. stinkin'. lovely.

Earl, Earl, go away... come again another day... On next thought, don't come back.

If you'll excuse me, I need to go buy water, bread, and canned food items like the rest of North Carolina and before it's all out.  And I guess MAYBE I'll head to the Crystal Coast on Saturday if there's still a beach left.  HA!  :o)

  1. I guess these are the perks of living in the middle of the state!!! Not a chance of rain the next few days :(

Hope your weekend plans still stand after the end of the week!
