OK, so I caught the blogging bug again while reading my friend's blog at The Schmidt Story tonight.  So Cindy, I'm a copycat ;)  But I wish I could say I have watched some good movies (2012 resolution I guess?)!!  And on another note, I am saddened by the reality that I have not blogged since June... JUNE?!?!  Ok, another 2012 resolution.  But what can I say?  2011 was fantastic, busy, in a word... a whirlwind.... 10.   Purchase I thought was going to be overrated but ended up being fabulous: iPad 09.  The one thing I always said I wouldn't be... that I became: "That parent" whose child's toys takes over the living room :) 08.  The biggest surprise of 2011: Justin kept a "baby face" for more than a week (now it's 3 weeks and counting!) 07.  The one time waster I discovered that is more addicting than crack: Pinterest.  'nuff said. 06.  The thing I think I missed the most (besides my family time) th...

"No Fly" Zone

I wanted to keep you guessing by the title of the blog post tonight.... still nothing?! :)  Well, we got good news... no... GREAT news about the adoption this past week. Most of you probably did not know this fact, but Zane is not technically "ours" yet in the legal sense of the word.  Of course, he came from our hearts so of course he is ours , but that final signature by a judge and receipt of a Social Security card have not happened yet.  Long story short, one of the 2 adoption judges in Oklahoma got into some legal trouble and had to step down, putting the adoption (and hundreds of others) behind in the already backlogged system there.  We have been getting frustrated, thinking he might be as old as a 12 months before we'd get to close officially.  And to close on our adoption, the archaic OK system required that we (meaning both parents and Zane) all travel back to OKC, stand before a judge for literally 5 minutes, show that we are upstanding parents, sig...

Update on my health

Image
I guess if there weren't any drama related to my health, life just wouldn't be interesting!  haha  Just wanted to take a minute to update you all since many have been asking, and some of you might not know the latest.  Early Friday morning about 1:30 am, I awoke to the most horrendous pain I have ever known.  It was in my left upper abdomen and was not like my usual endometriosis/ovarian cyst pain.  It was indescribable.  It was radiating over to the right side, through to my back, into both shoulders with a fury, and into my neck.  I thought I was dying!  I even threw up from the pain.  I took some Gas-X trying to hold off on going to the ER ("here comes Tara again") and wait to see my primary MD that morning.  But it was relentless and got to the point where I could not take a decent breath in without me practically screaming in pain.  We called my brother-in-law who was close by to come stay at the house in case the baby woke up ...

Decisions Decisions!

Well you may remember my last post ...I was trying to pray about and seek God's will about having a hysterectomy.  I won't drag out this post any longer... I have decided to go ahead and make the consultation to have it OUT!  And I feel such a peace about this decision.  And am actually looking forward to it now.   Be praying for me - I have no idea how this will work with my crazy schedule at work - I have a full schedule of patients and am booked through the end of June.  And I want to enjoy my summer, so I was thinking about towards the end of summer perhaps.  It will be tricky timing, though, as we were hoping to go on a vacation to the Bahamas or somewhere like that in early to mid-September.  And then Justin's brother's wedding at the end of Sept.  And then Zane's first birthday at the end of October.  So it really is looking like late July or early August I guess..... Zane is really getting chunky!  :) He weighed 17 lbs, 10...

Change of perspective

Hi guys!  I am still blogging... I know you probably thought I quit.  I have all but come to a screeching halt, and wish I had more time to blog!  But have a few minutes and thought I'd update everyone on a few things in the McLamb Life! The adoption has still yet to be finalized.  Yes, you read that right.  He's 5 months old now, and still haven't made our final trek to OKC.  Long story short, the judge presiding over our case got into some trouble and had to step down (nothing having to do w/ our adoption!).  So they have been working with only 1 adoption judge in the entire state of OK for months!  Needless to say, the adoption paperwork has become backlogged and ours is in that stack :(  Even though the adoption is now irrevocable - even if they wanted to change their mind, they couldn't legally - it would be nice to have it good and FINAL.  Our attorney seemed somewhat hopeful that it would be done by the end of May... Zane is d...

Zane's 3-4 month pictures are up on the website of J+A Photography !!!  You won't believe how completely awesome they are!  He truly is one of a kind, and they really captured his cool personality as well as showed off his beautiful baby blues and his handsome smile.  I am over the moon.... now to pick which prints we want.... wow, I'm going to have a hard time!!

Behind

Behind!  That's what I am.  I am so sorry that I have been absent from the blog.  Let me fill you in on what's been going on in the McLamb household... 1)  We have a growing baby boy who has captured our hearts and makes us want to spend every waking moment with him! He loves to watch TV!  Doesn't matter what's on... he will almost break his neck wherever he is to find the TV in the room!  HAHA!  And he's not able to sit in his little seat above for long yet (he starts to lean after about a minute), but it won't be long!! :)  He has been laughing at us and smiling - he is truly the happiest baby I have ever seen. 2)  I started a new job.  Monday through Friday, 8 to 5.  And while I'm not complaining, because I absolutely L*O*V*E* what I do, I am completely inundated with work .  I work 8 hrs a day, then come home long enough to spend about an hour with my hubby & son, then go back to work on the computer!  I work ...

Bad bad blogger!

Sorry I have been so MIA lately on the adoption blog updates.  With a newborn in general it gets tougher, but add in a new additional blog (www.threelittlebirdsnest.blogspot.com), a new job I started Monday, and Zane starting daycare Monday, it's been pretty rambunctious around here! ;) Zane is getting so strong!  He is also showing his temper!  HAHA!  When we are giving him a bottle and pause to burp him, he will literally scream and move from sitting on our laps to planting his feet and standing straight up!  It is quite impressive.  I need to try & capture it on video.  Don't worry, he isn't in any distress... just wants his bottle back!  He is also starting to stand up in our laps without us making him do it.  He might start walking before he crawls! He is giving us awesome, face-lit-up smiles lately.  They aren't frequent, but when he does, we get so. stinkin'. excited.  Like we won the lottery.  And he is sleeping...
