To Paint or Not to Paint??
So I am at a nursery dilemma. Well a few actually. But tonight I want to ask my bloggy friends their opinion... I got a great quality vintage dresser today for the nursery but I am thinking maybe I should paint it white.
What do you all think? The crib is a similar (but not matching) brown. I'm afraid it might be a bit heavy for the room. The curtains will be white, so cream is out as an option. Here's a pic of the dresser in the room beside the crib. Forgive the iPhone poor quality of the photo for a minute and look at the two browns. :)
Loving to hear from you guys! Can't wait to reveal the final project!

I say paint it! Looks like you are using brown and white anyway, from what I can tell from the photo. Since this is for a boy, you might consider changing the hardware.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do. Oh, and if you haven't read the Nesting Place blog about painting furniture, you should. The Nester paints stuff all the time!
PAINT PAINT PAINT!
ReplyDeleteIt might be a small pain to do it, but worth it.
I am currently looking for a Jenny Lind changing table to paint yellow
Paint it! I just had all of my great grandparents old furniture that was passed down to me refinished and it looks amazing! The place in downtown Goldsboro did it for me (cheap and a lot less work)....I think it's called Woodcraft...I didn't wanna change our hardware because they were the originals and my great grandparents, so I just got them to paint them and it all looks sooooo good! Just an idea!
ReplyDeleteHave fun and can't wait to see pictures...
Christy - saw a Jenny Lind CRIB painted yellow & it looked stunning!!! Can't wait to see your table.
ReplyDeleteJerri-Rae- I might have to check out that Woodcraft place. I don't have a lot of time to do it myself, but we'll see! I'd LOVE to see how your furniture turned out! PICS PLEASE!!! I'm all about painting things - I spray painted my college dining room table instead of buying another one and it's given me another 5-7 years without having to buy a new one! :)
