35 weeks & a dashing decal
We talked a little bit today with our birthmom. She says she is doing great, no contractions yet, just being uncomfortable, which seems understandable at almost 35 weeks! :) She reminded us how she has never made it beyond 36 weeks without delivering, which put us into fast-forward mode with preparing the nursery, making more packing & traveling plans, etc!!! This means that we could potentially have our little Zane with us by next week. But we'd be ok if he decided to stay a little longer, because we want him to be healthy as can be!! :)
I get a weekly email from babycenter.com, which goes into how far along our baby is. I just love their witty little posts, which compare the baby's size to everyday objects like a squash. HA! :) This past week, our 34-weeker update said: "Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers – which he'll need to regulate his body temperature once he's born – are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies."
Yahoo for happy healthy 34+ week pregnancies!
We finally got our wall decal in (really, it only took about a week for it to arrive but it felt like forever) that we ordered from Etsy. I've been hesitant to get it since it's so personalized and I didn't want to buy it before we got to the "short rows". Here it is in all my iPhone's nonglory.... but still gorg if you ask me!
Wish you all could see it in person. The Hubby worked really hard on making sure it was completely & utterly DEAD CENTER of that wall. Wow his OCD is overwhelming sometimes :) We also painted the crown molding today & I worked pretty hard on that cursed dresser (haha j/k).
Soon and very soon (ummmm... flashback to 1990 Church of God right there!!) the nursery will be done and I promise promise promise lots of pics! We've had a lot of fun putting this room together for baby Zane and although he will not care right away, I hope one day he'll see the labor of love we put into it just for him.
