Preparation & Prayers

Preparing for the adoption of a newborn baby across the country takes a lot of patience, faith (that we can & will make it before the birthmom [BM] delivers & that she won't change her mind), and a strange sense of understanding that even if she does change her mind, that is ultimately her decision and this is ultimately God's child.  We would be ever so honored and humbled if God will allow us to be this little guy's mom & dad.  But it takes total trust in Him that He "makes all things work together for our good" and that what He knows is best.  So preparation for this adoption is kind of like getting ready for a dance that you are pretty sure you've been invited to, but not really sure until you show up & your date has a corsage for you....

We sure hope and pray that the Lord's will is for little Z. to be with us.  But we also pray for His will regardless.  And that's hard.  Really hard to realize that God may be bringing us down this road for some totally different purpose than to bring Z. home.  Please pray for little Z.'s health, the BM T.'s health (physically as well as emotionally/mentally/spiritually), and for God's will to be done as we come to the climax of this adoption process.

Another prayer - one that I hope you will join with me in praying about also - is that we will make it to the delivery of little Z. before he is born.  In the grand scheme of things, I realize this is not as big a deal.  But I also know that the first 2 hours of a baby's life is one of the most crucial for mother-baby bonding.  And I want that time to be with him, to cuddle him and feed him, and tell him how long we've been waiting for him!  Please be in prayer for that as well.  The reason we are concerned that we might miss the delivery are the fact that she went into premature labor (about 4 weeks with one and 6 weeks with the other) with her other 2 children, she says she already feels the changes in her body occurring leading up to birth, and that our flight (if it were to be a straight flight, with no layovers) is approximately 4 hrs in length.  And from what we can tell, RDU has no non-stop flights to OKC... only layovers.  The best flight we have found "on the fly" was one that left RDU, landed in ATL but only to refuel (not deboard) and then to OKC - this one was the 4 hr flight!  So far, we've only seen that once.  Most flights will have a layover of at least 1.5 hours :(

So, we would love for you to come together with us in agreement that:
1) We will find an optimal flight schedule if/when we get the call
2) We will make it to OKC in time for the baby's delivery
3)  That God's will will be done in the 3 days after the birth and before BM T. has to appear before a judge to sign irrevocable paperwork for adoption.

Thanks from the bottom of our hearts for your love, prayers, & support during all of this.  We love you all bunches & bunches!  :o)
