Welcome to the World, Zane!!!

We are ecstatic to announce that Zane Michael McLamb arrived today, October 23, 2010 at 11:52 a.m.!  Quick & easy labor for the birthmom, other than emotionally tough.  She is such an amazing, courageous woman.  Our little guy will always hear of her courageous and loving choice she made for him.

He weighed 6 lb, 9 oz & measured only 18.5 inches - the cutest little guy you'll ever meet.  Big hands, long LONG feet, head full of black curly hair, and full beautiful lips!!  He is perfect and gorgeous.  Breathtaking and awesome.  Our God is so good.  There are no words to describe His goodness to us.  As I walked my 2 miles last evening around the hotel, I prayed... "God, even if you choose to let this baby wait to be delivered until the 29th, we will give you praise!  Even if you choose to let him stay here instead of coming home with us, we will sing of your goodness!"  Thank God he didn't choose either. :)

T. is doing very well.  She wanted us in the delivery room!  Justin had the honor of cutting the umbilical cord.  She had a very emotional moment when he was delivered and did not want to hold him or look at him.  I cannot imagine the emotional turmoil and sadness in her heart at that moment.  But she did speak directly to me before we left to go to the nursery with Zane, and she was so sincere in telling me that she did not want to change her mind and to not worry.  All I could do was cry and say, "Thank you.  You did so good.  Thank you for this gift."

She came & visited with us & him later on this afternoon.  She held him and nuzzled him and told him how much she loved him and that he was going to have "a great mom & dad now."  I tell you, she is an incredibly brave woman.  I will always love her not only for giving us such a wonderful gift but also for her love for this child.

So now I am getting off, because he will be returning from the nursery any moment & I don't want to be anywhere else but with him!

Thank you so much for your prayers.  Continue to pray for T. ... According to our agency, tomorrow will be the hardest for her.  And continue to pray for the other birth family members as well.

  4. Hi, we don't know each other in person but I found your blog through another blog and have been following your journey for a few months now. My family also attends Whitley and recognize you from there as well. I am so amazed by your strength and courage throughout this whole process. I know you are beyond thrilled at the arrival of your precious little boy!! Your faith in God is so inspiring and I have been so blessed by you and your husband's story. I wish you all the best in your new journey as a parent. There is nothing like it and you will be amazed each day at what God has done and will do through that little baby! I hope you have a smooth transition period and safe travels home.

  5. Oh Tara, you keep making me cry! Right now I'm sitting in a Panera in Springfield, Il reading your post to John and trying to see through my tears. God has blessed you and Justin and while I continue to pray for all of you my heart aches for T. and I will keep her in my prayers--you are absolutely right in saying what a brave woman she is--I just can't imagine what she is going through. I'm just so grateful to God that you are the ones touching her life and the lives of SO many people on this blog and fb.
