Let me just preface this by saying... I have been contemplating making this blog private, meaning you would need to send me your email address if you wanted to continue reading.  I really hate to do that.  I have done everything else to ensure my/our privacy is covered.  However, I am still thinking about it.  What are your thoughts?  Well, today's theme has been simple:  faith.  We went to T's appointment with her - she is 70% effaced (cervix thinning), baby's head is engaged in birth canal, and she is about 3 cm dilated.  So it won't be long! I don't want to go into details further than the fact that God is testing our faith.  Stretching it.  We are trying to be patient.  We are trying to be understanding and compassionate.  But... let's just say that it's very hard.  So today was another day of faith-testing.  Gosh, God sure is good at that!  I have not had a good makeup day if you get me.  But w...

 So you’ve packed and prepared… here’s what to expect once in Italy. Just a few tips to make the most of your time in this magical place! Create a shared iPhone photo album between you & your travel mates  I can say that this was so great, my husband took some awesome photos that I appreciated having without saying, “Can you send that to me?” And vice versa. Also that way, only one of us had to have our phone out the whole time LOL. Speak to the staff. They’ll take care of you. Italians are (for the most part) affectionate, friendly people who like connection. We loved that, because post-pandemic it seems like everyone forgot how to be kind and communicate like humans. I made sure to smile, look them in the eye, and try to learn a few words in Italian to show some effort and not look like a clueless American. We are in OKC!

Hi everybody.  Well, we are here!!! In Oklahoma City to meet our baby-to-be.  Yesterday, I was working in the ER and Justin had the "mommy phone" (which is our designated phone for the birthmom).  He called me to tell me she had called him & said she was 2.5 cm dilated.  I said, "No big deal, people walk around dilated all the time".  An hour or so later, he called & said she said to come now......... I almost threw up.  And my ER girls started basically screaming... haha. Her OBGYN told her at her appointment yesterday that she would go into labor yesterday or today.  So I left work, as did Justin, my mom, & his mom.  We packed bags like crazy people.  Yes, I had some things packed, but mostly I was unprepared.  :(  It took about 3 hours from the call to getting to the airport.
