Christmas in the McLamb house

Christmas 2010 has come and gone.  And although the tree hasn't come down yet, I am still a little sad.  My little baby will not be so much a baby next Christmas!  We had a great one, traveling between family gatherings.  We are hoping to stick close to home next year since he will be just over 14 months and not do so much traveling but we actually did less this year than usual and loved spending time together.
I guess Z's Christmas gift to us was SLEEP! :)  He slept through the night in his own crib without much intervention (otherwise known as paci-replacement) on Christmas Eve & Christmas night!  We are hoping for another good night tonight.  Here he was earlier today - he is now able to hold his head up for a good little while and can sit up pretty well in the corner of the couch by himself!!  Getting sooo big!

We have had the most SNOW I've seen in decades here in NC.  Too bad it missed being a white Christmas by about 4 hours here in Goldsboro.  I think we have about 11 inches at our house.  We tried to make snow cream... I might be alone here, but it is just nasty.  I did make some crazy delicious banana bread, and we had yummy tacos for dinner (my fav!) <3

This upcoming week will actually be a busy one, even though I am not working!  I have to get this house ready for the Christmas Shower I'm having here next weekend... I might need to take the tree down just to make more room for people :)  I also need to study refresh myself on all things NP... I start my new job in a week (OMG!!!!  Panic!!!) and really need to make sure I am ready.  Scary scary.  And I need to begin preparing for (hopefully) a big month for Thirty-One (our Thermal Totes go on major sale in January & I'm hoping for big sales).  So remember me this week :)

On a quick adoption update... we are still waiting to hear from our attorney in OKC about our final trip there.  It's really just a required formality but we have to go before a judge in OK for like, 5 minutes, and then we go back home!  Lots of $$ for about 5 minutes :)  But totally worth it of course!  We did email our birthmom on Christmas Eve, and haven't heard back from her.

My hope is that we can keep Christmas in our hearts all the year long.  Do something special for someone you love.  Write a thank-you note.  Pay for the bill for the person behind you in Starbucks.  Make a difference.  It's not about us... it's about others!

  2. Sounds like a perfect 1st Christmas for Zane...snow, family, and all! But snow cream is nasty??? What? How did you make it? We just use sugar, milk, a little vanilla extract, and snow of course. It is soooo yummy! Yes, I think you must be alone on this one! ;-)
